30 septembre Nail Art::KONADFound a great website while I was doing a search around the net one night. Now I think I will be getting something like this in the future. This is way easier than the old toothpick method or going to a salon (something I’ve never done) to sit for who knows how long and get charged who knows how much to get those beautiful nails we women love. The idea behind Konad’s Nail Art is using stainless steel image plates with thick nail polishes specially used for stamping to create the same look as what you get in the salon for less. After coating your nails with the basecoat color of your choice you choose the images you would like to embellish them with. You paint just the part of the plate you want to stamp, scrape off the excess, stamp, and place on your nail. To secure the designs you put a coat of clear polish, or to keep rhinestones in place. Here are three examples, all from just one plate!
There’s also design ideas for themes as well, like the seasons. This is the Professional kit you can buy from most sellers, I’ve found it anywhere from Amazon.com to salons online. The list of items included is extensive!
Can you say wow?! Blogging - Is it Wonderful or not?I’ve been thinking about it for a while and here I go! Starting my own blog, though I have to say I’m still feeling a little daunted by the task. Regardless I will try my hardest to keep it going. I’m not quite sure where I will go with a blog, but isn’t that half the fun of a journey? The not knowing where it will lead all the time? I think so. I do know there are a few things that I will blog about often.
So here’s to my attempt at the blogging universe! Hope I don’t get lost! 20 octobre Haircut coming! Yippy!I thought I would just say that I'm going to get my haircut soon! For those of you that don't know I've been enjoying long hair and since its starting to bug me lol I'm going to cut it and donate it to Locks of Love again. ^-^ I'm really excited cause I'm also going to highlight my hair for the first time, hoping for copper ones that will just compliment my hair and not stand out yelling "I'M A HIGHLIGHT!". No offense to people that have blonde streaks, cause remember this is my first time for highlights so I'm taking the easy route. I'll try to remember to post some pictures when I get some taken. Guess what I have? ^~~^ Mwahahahahahahaha! I am the proud owner of a PS2. My boyfriend bought it for me and I love being addicted to Okami and Monster Hunter! Its sooo nice to be back in the gaming world. ^_^ I finally made it back in. I think the best compliment I've gotten about it was when Randy, my boyfriend, said that was glad to see I adapted to the PS2 system so well, considering that the last one I played was an N64. ^..^ Though the rumble feature is still throwing me every so often and its funny because when I'm doing a video conversation with Randy he can hear it rumble cause it hits my rings lol. Anyways have a great day! 6 octobre New Drawings Be sure to check out the Deviant Art website to see my new works. I also posted them here if you don't want to visit DA. ;P Christian Principles & Life Drawing What is a Life Drawing Class?
For those that aren't art students, its a under-graduate class where you use live models to draw from. Many of you know my interest in Manga and Anime, and many people I have talked to rave about the life drawing class helping them tremendously. I would have to agree even though I've never taken it. I signed up for it in the next quarter at College, and besides being gone on vacation while MCC will still be holding classes, I have one other reservation about it. These live models I spoke of can be nude in some cases. I am so thankful to a friend of mine who took a class at her college, she and I have Christian principles so there is a red flag immeadiately. While I took an art history class that included sculptures from Greece that were nude even with how realistic the Greeks tried to be in portraying their sense of perfection wasn't the same thing. As far as I'm concerned the only man I want to and will be honored to see like that is my husband. Any another living human being is not something I want to see. I don't care how hot, sexy, muscled, toned, wrinkled, ugly or anything else he is, I don't want to see it! Even my mom can't understand why the models have to be nude at points.
So I've been given a chance to stand for my faith. I like what my dad told me about the armor of God. Soldiers in bible times would wear kleet-like spikes on the sole's of their shoes in battle. Anyone who's played sports with kleeted shoes will understand why. You have more traction and staying power so that anything you do will be used to the best. In a battle, in the push and shove of fighting an opponent, your stance is important as well as having a good grounding so that you can stand against the enemy. You loose your footing you could very well loose your life. The differences in my "battle" with my principles and completing the work assigned is so much like the different parts to an army. While I'm equipped to understand and know how to face this, someone else isn't. Shows so much to the character of God and His love of variety. Just as a bowman has his speciality to a horseman, each knows his position and place in the fight.
Ephesians 6:10-20 "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should."
As you can see from the highlighted portions of Ephesians there are things I'm especially thinking about. I want to be equipped with the full armor and being able to stand my ground "fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace." I want to be able to convey my thoughts on this class and my reservations so that I don't come across as trying to get out of the work, or have the time I'll be gone for Christmas counted against me. I can use all the prayer I can get and I really want to have God speak through me in this situation, because I'm not sure that I could come across the way I want to on my own.
I had a talk with a previous art teacher of mine on Wednesday and what she said, and that I would have to draw the models nude, wasn't encouraging. This teacher for Life Drawing is new to MCC, having only started last year's spring quarter, and I'm told he is nice so I'm hoping the email would go well. I've also asked the friend I spoke of earlier to help me with how I should approach the email so my words aren't confusing and will understand and be understanding as to why I don't want to draw nude models. I'm willing to take on other work in place of those times, but I will not draw them.
I'm really interested to know what you think about this and if you've had such a class, what you experienced or would do if you had to take such a class.
I'll be sure to update how the situation is progressing and thanks for any comments or prayers. ^_^ God bless.

::Side note:: The scripture in green is something I have been looking for in a sense for a long time. I've prayed about some of, what others would consider, the silliest, small, or unimportant things before and I finally have a reference beyond the others about praying that proves my point! That another scripture, can't remember where, is true to the fullest! I don't want it to be miscommunicated that I don't think the Bible is always true, but that people often dismiss that "small" things can be prayed for when there are major catastrophe's going on in the world. God wants to hear everything you have to say no matter how big or small you think it is! \^-^/ Yippy! Ok lol I'm done now. |
